My Trip to Banff National Park

So, I thought this would be a good subject for my first official blog post!!! Me and my boyfriend at the time, went to Banff National Park in Canada for my birthday last year. It was probably the best trip I have ever been on! When you are driving to Alberta, you are completely surrounded by mountains. Every one of them unique in their own way. I had never seen a more beautiful place! A week there was not enough!!! There is so much to do and so many different hikes it is unbelievable. We visited Lake Louise, which is the most popular, touristy part of Banff. There we took a canoe out on the lake, which was absolutely gorgeous.

After that, we got to walk around Lake Louise a bit and check out the shops inside. We also visited Peyto Lake, and took a little trail off of the main trail and found our own little private spot. It was perfect. We walked down to the lake and got to dip our toes in the water, which was freeeezing even in July because it is all glacier runoff!!

We also went to Moraine Lake for the sunset, which was absolutely amazing. Since we got there kind of late, I ran out to the lake quickly to get some pictures before the sun was gone, while Jacob made some mac n cheese back at the truck.

We got to do one other hike called “Johnston Canyon to Ink Pots”. This hike was amazing. Very touristy at first, but we decided to do the whole 7 miles and ended up getting to a giant field with lots of trails and gorgeous mountain views with no people!! It was very romantic.

Next, probably my favorite experience of the whole trip.. we got to go on a helicopter ride around the glaciers of the Rocky Mountains!!! This was so amazing, I loved every second of it.

Back at camp, we had a truck top tent for easy set up, which is also very comfortable. We made breakfast every morning, and made a little chipmunk friend who would eat food from our hands and hang out with us in the mornings. It was adorable.

We got to walk around Banff for a day, trying out different restaurants and checking out shops. We ate at a couple rooftops bars which was amazing because the town was surrounded by mountains as well.

Ahh, everything is just so gorgeous there. I didn’t get as many pictures as you know, one would hope, but all in all it was one of the best trips of my life and I would relive it over and over again if I could. Banff is definitely a bucket list trip!
